Conflict in West Asia remains a concern for auto industry: SIAM
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Friday said while March has festive drivers in several parts of the country, the recent conflict in West Asia remains a concern from the perspective of supply chains which could impact the manufacturing processes and exports.
Delhi High Court rules in favour of Maruti Suzuki over Volkswagen trademark dispute: Report
The Delhi High Court recently declined to hear a petition filed by German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen challenging the rejection of its opposition to a trademark application submitted by rival Maruti Suzuki India Limited in the case Volkswagen AG v. The Registrar of Trade Marks and Anr, as reported by Bar and Bench.

The auto stocks have been under pressure for the second day running. Motilal Oswal, however, maintains a ‘Buy’ rating on key passenger vehicle maker Maruti Suzuki. The stock is down 20% in the past three months but the leading domestic brokerage house expects the stock to rally 29% from current levels. They have set a 12-month target price of Rs 17,406 per share.

QJMotor rolls out SRK 421 RR supersport
The Chinese brand’s ever-growing line-up has a new entrant in the form of a 421cc inline-four-powered supersport that belts out close to 77 bhp at 14,000 rpm and 3.87 kg-m at 13,000 rpm. Brembo brakes and fully-adjustable suspension from Marzocchi add to the list of impressive hardware. Further, there’s multi-level traction control and different riding modes. All of that wrapped in an aggressive, futuristic design tips the scales to 191 kg. Is it coming to India, though? Unlikely. But if it does, it could give the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R a run for its money.
Ultraviolette announces BaaS scheme
In a bid to reduce the initial purchase cost, Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has partnered with Ecofy, a non-banking financial company, to offer battery financing. Under the programme, called Battery Flex, buyers can pay a monthly subscription of ₹2,499 per month over the course of five years. On the completion of the term, the battery ownership will be transferred to the customer without any extra charges. This option has reduced the upfront cost of UV models by up to ₹1.5 lakh.
